whistle bear wedding

Sarah & Dave said their “I Do’s” at the beautiful venue Whistle Bear.

Whistle Bear wedding photography at its finest! Sarah and Dave had pushed their wedding from last year due to the pandemic. They got married on April 10th this year during lockdown restrictions and Whistle Bear did a marvelous job making their day magical despite the craziness of covid.

I am so happy that Sarah and Dave chose McCormick Photography for their engagement and wedding photography. I always have the biggest belly laughs when I am working with those two. I knew it was the right fit from day one of meeting them during the consultation.

Everything about their big day was picture perfect from start to finish. I am so honoured that I was able to be part of their wedding day and I wish this sweet couple all the happiness in the world.

Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty details.

Dave was going to Brock University and Sarah was going to Niagara College. We met through a mutual friend one night at Isaac's (Brock University's pub). That was the first and last time we saw each other for years. About 7 years last we ran into each other one might at Pablo's in downtown Guelph. Sarah was walking to the back of the bar and Dave noticed Sarah and yelled out her name. The rest is history!

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did? etc.

It was just a feeling we both had. You know when you know.

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Were you nervous, excited, freaked out?)

We were at Dave's family cottage for our yearly vacation in August 2019. It was a Sunday after a weekend of hanging out with friends and Sarah just wanted to relax once they had left. Dave was insistent on going out on the boat for a sunset cruise around the lake. Dave really had to twist Sarah's arm as she just wanted to relax. Meanwhile, Dave was getting the boat prepared for the proposal.

We went out on the boat to the deepest part of the lake with the best sunset view. We were sitting in the bow of the boat with the engine stopped and that's when Dave started fumbling over his words. Next thing he was on one knee popping the question. The first thing out of Sarah's mouth was "Are you serious?"

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

Sarah loves that no matter how mad she can be about anything Dave can always manage to make her laugh. Dave loves that Sarah is the most genuine person with a heart of gold. She has the biggest heart and is always trying to do the best thing no matter the situation.

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

Dave is always making funny voices and faces. Sarah comes up with her own words for things. Dave calls them "Sarahisms".
