If you’ve recently said “I Do” you know the work required to find great engagement photography in Guelph, luckily there are some suggestions from the area’s favorite photography studio. As a professional photographer for nearly ten years in the Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo and Sout Western Ontario areas, I’ve learned a thing or two about the difference between average images and the type of engagement artwork that will make your friends jealous.
You’ll want to view some of the recent images in the photographer’s engagement photography portfolio. This is one of those things that it should yell at you that it’s perfect. Want to be disappointed with your engagement images? Just find a photographer and hand them images that aren’t in their style and ask them to recreate them. Like any artist a photographer develops a style and asking them to change isn’t going to go well. What does work? Present them with a concept or idea that’s meaningful to you.
Have you considered where you want to capture the images? In Guelph, we have a lot of amazing locations from Downtown Guelph to the Arboretum, and everything in between. Is what you’re looking for not in the Royal City? Luckily we have so many awesome locations around us in Kitchener-Waterloo, Fergus or even Milton. One of my most popular location requests is to actually get out of the city and capture the images in Downtown Toronto.
Session Time Length
More isn’t always better. Every couple wants their engagement photographs to be unique and depicting their own style. They also want an assortment of images from tight/wide shots and vertical/horizontal options. A professional photographer doesn’t need an afternoon to capture all of these images though. We have found, after photographing hundreds of couples, 2 hours seems to be about right. The key is to maximize the time. One of the ways to do this is to capture the images at two distinctly different locations with a quick wardrobe change between locations. This allows for your images to look truly unique from each other.
