Wedding photography at the Victoria Park East Golf at 1096 Victoria Road South in Guelph is always incredible, but this past August when I was capturing the wedding of Nicole and Mike it was one of my favorite times at this iconic Guelph wedding venue. After being selected as the wedding photographer from this couple, I got to learn a little more about these two amazing people. The story of them being from Fort McMurry struck me when you consider how recently the area was devastated by the large scale fires. Through the tragedy came stories of immense love; like how this engagement sprouted from these two being childhood lovebirds. Even as I write this I can vividly remember Mike being struck with emotions over a very touching set of cufflinks from one of his groomsmen and the bromance that was evident on their wedding day. Love takes all forms and being able to be a witness to the love of Nicole and Mike was a reminder of how lucky I have been to become the goto wedding photographer in Guelph. I wish you both nothing but love and am so grateful to have been able to capture the first day you spent as a family.
We grew up along side each other. Went to the same elementary and high schools. We fist dated in the 8th grade and had our first kiss. We then really started dating in the 10th grade and have been together ever since.
We became best friends and realized that we couldn’t see ourselves without each other.
Mike proposed when we were in Hawaii. I had won a trip though work and Mike took that opportunity to pop the question. I didn’t see it coming at all. He had the ring for a few months and after our first dinner in Hawaii we walked along the beach and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was shocked and so happy, I couldn’t wait to tell everyone back home.
Mike: I love how much she puts up with me Niki: I love that he says I love you every night before bed weather I am already asleep or not.
Mike: excited to see Niki in her dress for the first time. Niki: getting ready, and dancing.
Center pieces are a copy of what was on a dinner table in Hawaii. Puzzle pieces and Lock ceremony because we are a perfect fit and have been together forever 😉 Comic book flowers because Mike is a nerd.
That it’s really hard to plan a wedding in Ontario from Alberta.
