Jessica & Tyler decided Guelph, Ontario was the perfect setting for their wedding photography and I was beyond honoured that they chose McCormick Photography as their wedding photographer. I had the pleasure of photographing Tyler’s sisters’ wedding two years ago and that is where I first meet Jessica & Tyler. I was so excited to hear that they loved what they saw so much during his sisters’ wedding that they knew right away that they wanted McCormick Photography to capture their engagement shoot in Rockwood and wedding in Guelph. It was a perfect September day and the sunset setting on the downtown core of Guelph made for some stunning imagery for the gorgeous couple. I am so excited to share some of the same day edits that I put together during their wedding and showcased to the guests and family of the bride and groom at the reception.
We have known each other since the beginning of high school. We had the same group of friends and had known one another for 4 years before dating. It was once I had moved away to college that we connected and started a relationship.
We had spent a lot of time together and dated for many years. I had moved away up North for a year for school and it confirmed that we did not want to be apart from one another any longer and decided to move in together. Tyler is amazing at planning surprise dates and after a weekend trip to Niagara Falls we both felt that we wanted to be together forever.
I did not see the proposal coming at all . We had been talking about it for months and I had hoped it would happen over Christmas or for my birthday but it didn’t. I had finally accepted I would have to wait a little longer for the ring. Tyler and I both work a lot of on-call shifts on weekends and it felt like we had not had a weekend off in a long time. We finally had a full weekend off and we were excited to relax and spend time together. Tyler had dinner plans and an idea of how and when he would propose that day but he was not able to wait. We had a great morning relaxing and making breakfast together and Tyler could not hold his excitement in and surprised me in the house with the ring and a proposal. It was very sweet as it was clear he just couldn’t keep it a secret any longer. I was very shocked and caught off guard but very happy!
I love Tyler’s sense of humour and how he can always make me laugh. He would do anything for his friends and family and is one of the most giving people that I know. Tyler said he loves most how thoughtful and kind I am as we both have a strong passion for helping others and putting others first.
Getting to see all of our families and friends together and knowing how much love and support we have from the people closest to us.
There is no theme lol I just wanted simple and easy but beautiful at the same time.
How many decisions you have to make- I’m terrible at choosing and should have hired a wedding planned.
