These are some of the Knight Families favourite images captured in Downtown Guelph by McCormick Photography.
Family photography in Guelph (the royal city) is as synonymous with our studio as wedding photography. In mid-September of this year, I had the honour of working with Jason and Carol Knight along with their son and daughter to capture some family photographs they will be proud to show their family and friends. We started photographing this family of four right near the Guelph River Run Centre, a popular place amongst professional photographers. As with any shoot, I always try to focus on creating a unique perspective of the family, regardless of how many times I’ve photographed at the same location before. Luckily, this part of Guelph, Ontario is so diverse, with the flowing water, the man-made bridges, the stone walls and modern building that I was able to provide the family with a variety of photographs. I always feel so lucky to be a family photographer when the clients in front of my camera are as amazing and photogenic as these four. After leaving the River Run Centre, we made the short trip to the nearby Courthouse Gardens.
The courthouse gardens are directly behind the local municipal court building but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the number of couples and families who tell me they’ve walked by the area hundreds of times but never known this little city gem existed. A large amount of greenery and the cozy environment feels like a little escape within the city. Luckily, most cozy places make for amazing environments for showcasing the connection and togetherness of a family during a photography session. At the end of the session I was so sad for our time to be over but knowing the Knight family will have some incredible family artwork inside their home makes me proud of what this family and I created together. I got to work with an amazing family while experiencing their love for one another and the Knight family has an incredible family portrait for the inside of their home. As a professional, I couldn’t have been happier.
