Jennifer and Mike’s engagement session took place at Spencer Smith Park and Paletta Mansion.
Engagement photography is one of my favourite things about being a photographer! It’s an opportunity to learn all about the couple and capture some casual yet unique imagery that provides diversity for the client from their wedding photography.
Jennifer and Mike decided on Burlington for their engagement shoot. It is close to their hometown and they love the views over the water. We started the shoot at Spencer Smith Park. Spencer Smith Park is a park in downtown Burlington, Ontario located on the shore of Lake Ontario. It is one of the most popular places in the city for engagement shoots as it offers a magnificent view of the lake, beach and Skyway Bridge while sitting on the breakway, walking, cycling or rollerblading.
For the second portion of the shoot, we went to the Paletta Mansion. The mansion stands on an exquisite 14 acre lakefront property referred to as “the jewel in the crown” of Burlington waterfront. Jennifer and Mike wore Toronto Maple Leafs jersey for a few shots to represent their favourite hockey team especially given the shoot took place during the NHL playoffs.
Jennifer and Mike have been together for 19 years! They met through mutual friends and got engaged back in 2011. After a long engagement, they decided to finally tie the knot. Their wedding is on September 7th of this year at Copetown Woods Golf Club. They chose that venue because they wanted their wedding to have a country setting and somewhere that’s close to home for their family and friends. They opted for September for their wedding because the days are still long and the weather is pleasant.
The couple won an engagement shoot contest and after having the engagement session, they decided McCormick Photography was the right choice to capture their big day later this year! I am so excited that Jennifer and Mike loved their engagement photos and I am super excited about their upcoming wedding.
